Coronial Pathway - DCJ NSW

The NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) engaged us to provide insights and recommendations into how the experience of families could be improved when interacting with the coronial pathway.

Through this project, we developed a series of design outcomes which help to inform decision-making that will support development of a grief-informed and human-centred solution.

We developed a set of grief informed design principles, content and UX design principles, concept recommendations and considerations which should form the basis of any future solution design.

We tested a low-fidelity prototype to understand the desirability of a digital solution. We wanted to learn more about:

➔ Expectations of families and staff
➔ Value of features and what we should prioritise
➔ Unforeseen consequences of introducing a solution like this
➔ How family members might use the solution
